Summary:

  •  Under director of the Administrator and DON, have the authority, responsibility, and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing center's formal and informal education of the staff.  Provides patient care education, and functions as a consultant and educator to the nursing staff.  Responsible for making recommendations in areas of expertise. Maintains records and statistics reflecting role performance; participates in institution wide committees and projects as indicated and assigned by the Director of Nursing. Assist the organization in accomplishing its mission of assuring quality care is delivered at all times. In coordination with the Nursing Center Administrator, CEO, and DON assess, plan, develop, coordinate and direct a detailed Quality Management Plan to assure customer satisfaction, meet all regulatory requirements and BridgePoint standards.
  • Responsible for assessing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the nursing education for inpatient services.  Provides group and one-on-one in-services and training to staff on their particular shifts – all three shifts.   

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.  Bachelor or Master Degree peferred. A Registered Nurse licensed to practice nursing in District of Columbia. Must maintain current provider CPR certification throughout employment. Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience of which at least one year in nursing education. Knowledge and experience in Long Term Care, and/or QI/QA with current DC license.
